County Hall
For many years, County Hall was the site of London's seat of government. It has been transformed into the site of many things. It now holds two hotels, two restaurants and a McDonalds, the Aquarium, the soccer hall of fame, and a few other things. My first visit to London, I stayed for a month in another hotel where the room was small and got on my nerves after a while. I now stay at the Marriott at County Hall which is much more "Americanized" as they say. The first time I was to stay there, as we got into the courtyard, I had to ask the driver if he was sure this was indeed where I was supposed to be staying. I couldn't believe it. It is just on the other side of Westminster Bridge from Big Ben. In this picture, you can see the London Eye before it was raised.
